Adventure City!

Elaina got to experience her first visit to a theme park this weekend. We took her to Adventure City in Buena Park on Saturday. Adventure City is so cute, it is all about little kids with little rides. It is kind of like if Camp Snoopy at Knotts Berry Farm, except without the ticket prices and big rides for older kids and adults. I think she really liked it. There were a couple of rides that we took her on that she was a little nervous on but she didn't cry, she just kinda held on tight to one us until it was over. She was also a little unsure of the farm animals at the petting zoo, but, she really wasn't scared of them. We got there right when they opened at 11 am and were done by 1 pm. Elaina went on all the rides she was big enough for (which was all of them except 2 rides I think) and then she was ready for her nap. All-in-all we had a great time and I can't wait to go back. It is a steal compared to other parks at $15 a ticket. Here are some great pics. :)

She held on to me for dear life on the Carousel ride, she really did not like the school bus (it was really fast and I think we were both a little scared on that one), she loved the rescue cars and the train rides, but her favorite thing was....... the Thomas the train table set (not even a ride, go figure!)

Thank Heaven for Little Girls!

My little Elaina is all Girl......She loves shoes! She puts on whatever shoes she can find and parades around the house in them, Mommy's shoes, Daddy's shoes, Grandma's shoes, doesn't matter and she is a happy camper. She even knows how to put on her own shoes (although not always on the correct feet).  sigh. They start so young, but who can blame her. What girl doesn't love shoes? right? I think Auntie Cindy would be proud.

Whats next......shopping? boys? Oh No, I think I am in trouble! LOL :)

Pretty painted pink toes too! :)

My Little Talker

Elaina is talking more and more these days and it seems like she is saying a new word everyday. She also loves to play telephone with any phone see shes (cordless phone, cell phone, toy phone). She picks up the phone and pushs the numbers and presses and says "ha-woo" (hello) and has full conversation with someone holding the phone up to her ear and walking around the room, sometimes she pretends its Mama or Dada, and even "Mel-mo" (Elmo). She even laughs as though they are telling her something really funny and then says "bye-bye". It is sooo cute, I love it.

The words she says now: Mama, Dada, Hi, Ha-woo (Hello), Bye-Bye, Mel-mo (Elmo), Nana (Banana), Ah-pol (Apple), Papa, Up, Dow (down), Pees (please), No, elp (help), Ah-bo (Oliver), auhb ooh (luv you), nigh-nigh (night-night), ba-bee (baby), shoes, ha-pee (happy), mboo (Moo)......and the list keeps growing!

Elaina is 1 year & 1/2

Today was Elaina's 18 month old well baby check-up and she did so great. She is 21 lbs and 30.25" tall, which is still below average but the doctor said it is not a concern as long as she is gaining weight at a healthy pace. She had only one shot in her thigh which was not bad at all because I thought she was going to get more than that and she only cried a little bit. Afterwards, she showed Daddy & Papa her band aid (so cute). So now she is good to go for another 6 months when we go back for her 2 year old well baby check-up.

Next up, her 6 month old dental check-up.

Bowling Night

Last night James and I went out bowling, which is something we haven't done in over a year! I think the last time we went bowling Elaina is around 3 or 4 months old. It was a spur of the moment kinda thing, my thoughtful hubby decided he wanted us to spend some time together and have fun since he is going to Vegas tomorrow for Scotties Bachelor Party. Elaina stayed home with G+G and to my shock she did not cry at all when we left. In fact she was saying bye-bye and giving kisses and blowing kisses. I could not believe it! Last time we went out she cried her little eyes out for me and it broke my heart. It is so hard to leave her when she is crying, although, apparently last time she stopped crying by the time we got to the car. But last night was so different and I was so proud of her and it also made me feel a lot less guilty and I truly had a good time and I didn't worry about her at all. She did it again this morning too, she did not cry for me when I left for work (she stayed home with Papa b/c my sitter is going on vacation). She was happy and waving bye-bye and giving me kisses. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised though b/c she never cries when I drop her off with Azra, she is always happy and giggling and running in her house to start playing, which always makes me feel good.
sigh!
My baby is growing up!
